Day 30 - "TOY"...

The first thing I think of when I hear the word "toy"

is my brother-in-law.   He was named Rey

but when he was born he was so tiny that

he got the nickname "Toy" and it stayed with

him his whole life.  He passed away about

9 years ago...I miss him!

The picture is of some old toys...

the red rocket was my dads and he would be 82.

I think you would sit on it and ride it...

maybe the original skateboard???

Day 29 - "FEET"...

These are the coolest "FEET" I know!

They belong to my 15 year old neighbor...

and I believe they are about a size 15!

Awesome!!!!

"TRASH"...

I...like so many...love to turn

"TRASH" to treasure...

This dresser was found curbside,

These lamps were transformed...

...and this rocker was literally in

the "TRASH" in two pieces!

Day 26 - KEYS...

When Hoke was on his mission....

(some 40 years ago...)

KEY West, or the Florida KEYS

was part of his mission.

I think this has my name written {{ALL }} over it!

BREAKFAST...

This would be my "breakfast" of choice...

...but lately this is it...

not {{really}} that bad ... but...just saying!

"ANIMAL"...

Well...here is our newest "animal"

and member of the Holyoak Hilton.

Tipsy...

I cannot believe we own another dog!

She's cute and playful and hopefully

will be trained to not run away,

eat the chickens, chew up everything,

dig holes in the grass, yadda...yadda.

She's terrier and heeler mix...

whatever that means to anybody

and shouldn't get too big and honery!

Day #23 - MOON...

Kitchen sink...

Here is my KITCHEN SINK...

got it at a salvage yard...

Old and chippy - just like I like it!

Here is another old yellow porcelin KITCHEN SINK

that is in the rental house...who has yellow any more?

This KITCHEN SINK came from an alley in Wyoming

that Trent and Hoke {{retreived}} one night

and we brought it all the way home.

It's now the bathroom sink in the rental - love it!

And my favorite...

Houston buddy when he was just

a little guy enjoying bathtime in the KITCHEN SINK ;)

(I'm realizing that nothing I have is normal???)

Day 20 -- Before/After...

BEFORE

We were given this windmill probably 2-3 years ago...

it's the typical grey metal...sometimes you see

them painted John Deere green and yellow.

Well being the not so typical - kookie type person I am...

Day 18 -- "a corner of your house"...

Here's a corner of my house that has

a great vintage birdcage...{{alas}}

it tells a sad story today :(

This cage has housed "merle the bird"

since Emily got "merle the bird" as

a sophomore in high school - 14 + years ago.

Well...this morning...with ALL the grandkids in tow

we discovered "merle the bird" on the

bottom of this lovely little vintage cage! Stiff!

Oh my...now what to do?

Tobyn found a perfect box, we wrapped

"merle the bird" in a paper towel and

had a discussion of going to live with Jesus

and have plans to lay to rest "merle the bird"

when the rains stop. 

I still love my little vintage bird cage---

rest in peace "merle the bird"!

March 17---"GREEN"

I know you're {{GREEN}} with envy...

we got to spend the evening with all

the kids and grandkids, dinner, playing, and hanging out!

# 16 --- "SUNGLASSES"...

Summer is just around the corner...

in Arizona - even the {{SUN}} wears SUNGLASSES!

Day #15 --"CAR"...

Once again...got nothin' for CAR,

however, here's a favorite (old) picture

(I'm thinking of hiring him with the price of gas!) 

Day 14 - CLOUDS

I got nothin' for CLOUDS...

not many in the sky today,

but I hear changes are on the way!

"A SIGN"...

I missed my best sign opportunity this morning...

so this "here's your sign - you blew it" moment is for me...

I was driving down Broadway this morning and

there was a sign that said - "Caution

Chain Gang Working - DO NOT STOP"

and about 8 black and white clad prisoners were

were hoe-ing weeds, all chained together at the ankles...yikes!

I didn't have my camera and probably would of been in trouble

any way if I tried to take pictures so just as well.

Next best...

Here is a sign Hoke has in his office from

his working "baseball" days...however -

I LOVE  baseball season and am

so excited it's starting. YAY!

"FORK"

This is a pretty LAME post-

but here are some of the forks in my life

These are from an old vintage set...

This means there's a grandbaby not too far away...

You old time Mesa people will remember this...

many moons ago when we got married,

everybody registered at Sanborns downtown

for their China and Silver...

yea, remember, this is from that original set,still have it all 

This pitch fork is kinda hard to see,

hangs on the chicken coup and looks cool,

(it's never used for working or anything)

and this guy usually means Hoke's a cookin' something good!

My guest bedroom had this very RED

wall, which I loved 7 years ago...now not so much!

...as mentioned, I finally painted and here's

the new (ever so popular) aqua,

with my fun vintage headboard and pillows...

another little view of the "hankie" window,

and my yo-yo quilt (2055 little fabric yo-yo's, to be exact!)

also had this great old dresser that I stripped -

and repainted, much better...

and not done yet... here was a very

RED and messy closet...

now more organized - and less RED!

I love the color red just not {{RED}}.

I recently  painted

my guest bedroom and redecorated it...

Day 7 - Something you wore...

Today I wore...many hats!

I wore my "healthy" hat and rode the bikes with Hoke...

I wore my "painters" hat...

I wore my "upholstery" hat...

I wore my "domestic" hat...

...and on a tragic note - I wore my "sad neighbor" hat...

most of you have probably heard on the news by now

about a fire in AJ where 4 people died...

it was on our street, just a block away.

We didn't know them but still - how tragic :(.
