Exactly how I feel!

Getting ready for the "re-do"

I am finally tackling the painting and redecorating

of my living room and kitchen...

and I have had this great old cabinet

that now needs a new home!

It would be great outdoors for a potting bench

or a cabinet for BBQ supplies, etc.

It has a very old and unique sink in it that

that could be great for planting, etc.

and possibly hooked up for water?

or could be used indoors like I did

for a buffet or side table for foo-foo!

$35.00 takes it! :)

Summertime (dah!)

If you were out and about today

you probably realized this

is the middle of June in Arizona -

a little dust storm and wind ...

what else would we expect, right?

Doors, doors and more doors...

Once again...I can't have just one of anything!

I know I've shown this little pink dresser before,

but if you look behind it there are some

fantastic old doors of many colors and styles!

Love them...

This old door is in the living room...

all gussy-ed up...

This is the old door to my upholstery shop...

it's the same one my Grandpa put on

when he built it and I think he salvaged it!

Hasn't been repainted in about 40 years!

These double doors are ones that open

on the side of the shop to get big

things in and out...

Grandpa  built them and

I repainted them a few years ago ;)

Love them too...

Here is Hoke's license plate door on one of the sheds...

and this is my most embarrasing (how do you spell that?)mess...

it's on my little pantry,

I have some cool  black metal shelves

just waiting to go in and get

all organized with some baskets...someday!

This is a door we stole (found) in

Wyoming in an old run down house and

brought it home.

Here is probably the latest sign I have

made around here...on the

little vintage bike out front ...

...and true to my "can't have just one of something"

disease - here are some more fun old bikes around...

this one is hanging on the side of the rental house ;)

This is one of my favs...it actually is hanging

on the wall inside the rental -our poor renters ;( -

we actually got it at a yard sale in

Dreamland Villa many years ago from the

original little old lady owner (does that sound

like an episode of Andy Mayberry?)

It's a 1963 Schwinn and had all the original paperwork! 

This is Hoke's newest acquisition...

just got it and rigged up the

burlap flower baskets for me...

It sits on our patio right outside the back door!

What's on your plate...

I seem to have lots of different plates here and there...

this one is a Goodwill find that I use

for serving goodies and sandwiches...

This "Woman at the Well" was given

to us by a snowbird couple in our ward...

This little saucer and cup is very special...

my Grandma gave it to me many years ago...

I think it was her mom's but not sure...still LOVE it!

This little vintage set has a story...

when we started to clean and remodel

my Grandpa's house that we now live in...

we found this in an old cupboard outside

that had been there thru several renters

over the years... it has a few chips,

and I can't imagine him ever using it.

He was a single, rough cowboy type,

wish I knew where it came from.

I think it belonged to my Grandma at

one time and he somehow ended up with it???

I seem to always have TOO much on my plate...

wife, daughter, mom, grandma,

church calling, upholsterer, yada...yada...

so this is my new motto.

I am really trying to organize,

muck out, clean up and SIMPLIFY my life!

I'd say I'm a half-full gal!

Mornings (NOT!)

I have NEVER been a

morning person...

I need to wake up on

my own terms and need

my space...

I  have learned to

be a little more pleasant

but would prefer to bite your head off!
