My sister, Kathy, was in town

from Washington for the weekend...

 

Wish she lived closer, sigh.

 

Hello world...

Awhile back our cockatiels hatched a baby...

today it came out of the nesting box

for the first time...

a little ugly - needs to grow more feathers

(but if we're being honest here, I've seen

some newborn human babies that aren't the prettiest!)

 

Let's hope our new little bird survives!

Climbing yellow roses...

I love when my climbing roses bloom...

..."may all your weeds be wildflowers".

...put the shade awning up...

...broke out the shovels...

...turned on the hose...

...cheap entertainment...

This Gramma goes all out for her grandkids :0!

 

Sleepover...

All the kids came for a "spring break" sleepover...

the boys decided to "mine" for gold

( I wish they would of found some

buried in that garden spot!)

Violet was "keeper of the gate"

with Olivia helping...

(they were actually trying to keep the chickens out)

Then the hoola hoopes came out-

Easton's got it down pretty good...

the girls giving it a try...

Houston had more fun throwing his at the dog!

...and papa?

after an attempt of sleeping...

breakfast the next morning...

pancakes and sausage.

Flowers...

I love this time of year when the flowers bloom!

kitchen...before and after

...been almost 10 years since the kitchen was done...

still love my old, vintage, metal cabinet and sink...

not lovin' the red so much anymore... soooo

painted the walls gray

 

the bottom cabinets black,

and the top cabinets a

creamier, off-white...

painted the little corner shelf yellow...

found me some little kissin'

salt and pepper shakers, (in my stash)

Hoke put me up a shelf to display

my vintage water pitchers

and hung up my old trivets...

dug thru my vintage aprons and made a valance...

(kind of reminds me of being "hung out to dry")

added some knobs...

and handles... and there ya go!
